Oh BABY, I'm 1 Year Old!

Had the best time with this adorable lil' one-year old. He did such a great job taking his photos but when it came time to actually "eat" the cake, he really wanted no part of it. I know, I know, you can't tell from the "looks" of it (he had a little help from mom and big sis :) Hope you enjoy these previews as much as I enjoyed taking them!

I can see, I can see!

So dear son number two has been telling me for a year that he can't see very well. Of course I was convinced that he just wanted some uber, cool glasses like his best class mate so, I brushed it off as him wanting the next "best thing". After all, when I was about his age, I tried to convince my own mother that I, too, was in need of glasses (I thought it would be cool to wear them). To this day I have no need for corrective lenses so I was quite certain that my son didn't either. As parents aren't we great at comparing our offspring to ourselves?

While visiting our pediatrician for a routine visit, Carter failed his eye exam. "See Mom, I told you I can't see". Still convinced that he somehow "threw" his eye exam but wanting my son to hear it from a REAL eye-doctor that his eyes were just fine, I scheduled an appointment with the local optometrist for two days later. While speaking with the receptionist I told her my reservations and asked if the doctor could actually tell if my sons eyes were bad or if he was just "faking". She assured me that the doctor would not only be able to tell if he was "faking" but she could tell what type of corrective lenses he would need if glasses were required.

To make a long story short, Carter WAS in need of glasses. I feel rather guilty that he should have been wearing them all along. Another chapter in my should-a, could-a mommy book. Now we have one very happy young man (that can see), $320 less in our bank account and a story that won't soon be forgotten. I have to admit I think he did a great job picking out his frames and I don't think it will take long to get use to his new look.

Clickin' withdrawls.....

So my hubby had to travel out of the country for work and the boys and I have cabin fever...literally, it's like 94 degrees outside! We wanted to go on a little adventure but decide to wait for the sun to start its slow walk towards setting. I load the suburban up with fun-loving boys, 2 cameras and sunglasses and off we go. Riverview has a beautiful little park just minutes from our home, this would be our destination. We know there will be plenty to do and see as Friday's boaters pack it in and call it a day.

It's been 5 days since my last photo shoot and my "clickin" finger is begging for some action. Nothing better than prompt-too photo shoots of my favorite subjects. I stop the car and everyone piles out. Those kids are attracted immediately to the river and my lens follows them where they go. The rest of our night can be told in the photos. I miss my husband but I am thankful for these memories with my boys. Enjoy!

Don't You Know Who That Is?

Had such a great time tonight with Jenette Curtner at her maternity, sun-set, beach photo shoot. As we were wrapping up the shoot people started to stare. I mean, Jenette is a really lovely young lady but these people were REALLLLLY staring. As I walked by them I quipped "don't you know who that is?" (as they were on pins and needles to find out), "no, no, who is it?" my reply, "that's Jenette Curtner". Hey, she will be famous someday.

Thanks, Jenette for such a great photo shoot. Hope you enjoy your pictures and have an easy time with the rest of your pregnancy.
